President, Chief Executive Officer
Beerd founded Magnum Cementing Services in 2007, along with two other co-founders. Since then, Beerd’s leadership and commitment have built Magnum into the company it is today.
He has over 25 years of industry experience, with 15 of those years spent working for large Canadian pumping services companies, where his roles included Engineering, Sales, Operation Management, and VP of Engineering. Beerd graduated from the University of Alberta with an engineering degree in 1993.
Vice President, U.S. Sales
In 2007, Darren co-founded Magnum Cementing Services, where he continually supports the expansion of Magnum's client base and geographical footprint.
Darren has over 25 years of primary and remedial cement pumping services experience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, where he began his career at the field level and furthered to technical sales and operations. He graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), earning a Petroleum Engineering Technology Diploma with a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation. Darren is also a member with the Association of Science and Engineering Technology (ASET) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Vice President, Manufacturing and Maintenance
As a co-founder in 2007, Rob started in field operations and continually advanced through several key positions within the company. Rob is responsible for the maintenance and fabrication of equipment to ensure operational, organizational, and performance needs are met. Rob has more than 20 years of oilfield cementing experience in the Canadian market.
Chief Financial Officer
Brand has supported Magnum in a financial and corporate services capacity since 2007. He currently oversees the Accounting, Administration, Human Resources, and Information Technology departments, while also managing Finance and Legal operations.
Brand has over 22 years of financial experience, including 8 years as a Controller and 3 years of public practice. Brand has spent over 12 years in the financial sector within the industry. Brand attained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Lethbridge and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
Vice President, Canadian Sales and Marketing
Gerry is responsible for overseeing Magnum's continuing sales and marketing efforts in Canada. He has extensive experience in oilfield services, including engineering, supply chain, technical sales, and progressive senior leadership roles. Gerry's close attention to the specific requirements of each of Magnum's customers and his dedication to the delivery of quality work will set the bar for his Canadian sales team.
Vice President, Technical Services and QHSE Officer
Brian is responsible for Magnum's Engineering, QHSE, Training, and Technical Service departments.
His industry experience includes over 16 years in oilfield pumping services, completions in Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD), Cold Heavy Oil Production (CHOPS), and exploitation of developing plays. He attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Brian is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), and SPE.
Vice President, Operations
Mike oversees operational activities at Magnum to ensure quality and productivity of services are maintained. Mike started with Magnum in 2015 as a Senior Sales Representative and quickly moved to Operations Manager.
Mike has over 26 years of industry experience ranging from a hands-on field level operator to sales and management positions.
Vice President, Research and Business Development
Kelly is responsible for Magnum's Research and Development, Supply Chain and Logistics, and Corporate Development opportunities globally.
Kelly has over 20 years of energy pumping services experience in Canadian and international markets. He studied in the petroleum field and continues to participate in Industry Recommended Practice (IRP) committees and others.
